Updated shelters have been opened in vocational education institutions in Chernihiv and Romny as part of the infrastructure component of the EdUP<\/span> project. <\/b>These spaces have become not only safe refuges during air raids but also fully equipped learning environments\u2014comfortable, inclusive, and designed to support the continuation of education under any circumstances.<\/p>

Chernihiv: A New Multifunctional Space in the Dormitory Shelter<\/h5>

The shelter in the dormitory of the Chernihiv Vocational Railway Transport Lyceum<\/span> <\/b>has been modernized and now serves a dual purpose\u2014safety and education. It is not only a place to stay safe during air raids but also a space where students can study, work on homework, or simply relax in comfortable conditions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What has been done:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Replacement of water supply and sewage systems<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Installation of a mobile inclusive stair lift<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Construction of restrooms<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Upgraded ventilation, electrical wiring, and lighting<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Installation of new doors and flooring<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Procurement of modern furniture and bunk beds<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The opening was attended by students and teachers of the lyceum, representatives of local authorities and educational departments, Serhii Kovalenko<\/span>, a state expert from the Directorate of Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, as well as the EdUP<\/span> project team.<\/p>\n

    Romny: Another Step Toward Safe Education<\/h5>\n

    An updated shelter was also opened at the Romny Higher Vocational School<\/b><\/span>, becoming the fourth such facility modernized within the EdUP<\/span> project\u2014following those in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    What has been implemented:<\/strong><\/p>

    • Installation of water supply and sewage systems<\/p><\/li>

    • Installation of an inclusive restroom and a vertical lift<\/p><\/li>

    • Installation of a fire alarm system<\/p><\/li>

    • Upgraded heating, ventilation, internet, and electrical networks<\/p><\/li>

    • Installation of new doors and flooring<\/p><\/li>

    • Procurement of furniture suitable for learning even during air alerts<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
