Four students from vocational education institutions, participants in the EdUP project, took part in the international “Gold Cup Linde” competition in the Czech Republic on April 23-24.

The event was held at a vocational school in the town of Frýdek-Místek. The competition featured 132 contestants from six countries: Czech Republic, Ukraine, Bulgaria, China, Germany, and Slovakia.

Denys Kotliarchuk from the Higher Vocational School of Volodymyrets ranked among the top ten best welders, securing the eighth place with the 111 method: shielded metal arc welding.

Other participants included Nikita Nikitin from the Higher Art Vocational College of Vinnytsia, Polina Sulim from the Regional Center for Vocational Education of Innovative Technologies in Construction and Industry, and Vitaliy Shudra from the Kovel Center for Vocational Education, who also showcased high performance, placing between 19th and 25th.

Before the competition, participants honed their skills in electric and gas welding in production, notably at the Donmet Plant, and later during the First Training and Practical Conference on Welding for Masters in Vinnytsia.

Since 2019, VET schools have participated in the “Gold Cup Linde” welding competition. This event provides an opportunity for Ukrainian students to demonstrate their skills and gain international experience in the field of welding.
