The purpose of the project is to prepare students in 5 highly demanded construction professions in 28 VET institutions in Ukraine.
The training aims to involve not only school graduates, but also adults seeking to acquire new skills in accordance with the needs of the market, find a job and have a decent income. Special attention is given to war veterans, IDPs and Ukrainians returning from abroad. The training will take place with the support of international donors.
The project “Public-private partnership to improved professional education in Ukraine” is implemented with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, “Heberit Trading” LLC, “Sika Ukraine” LLC. It is implemented by the Swiss Foundation for Technical Development Cooperation “Swisscontact” with the support of the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Ukraine.
The III phase of the EdUP project “Public-private partnership to improved professional education in Ukraine” will last from 2023 to 2027. Several areas of activity are foreseen:
- Offer diversification: business and vocational education institutions jointly develop and conduct educational programs and courses.
- Introduction of new ways of learning, such as: electronic materials, digitalization of the educational process, creation of the original digital educational manuals.
- Private sector engagement: encouraging the private sector to identify and provide educational services and support vocational training institutions that teach the professions.
- Organizational development of VET schools: effective management of the institutions, career counseling of graduates with the aim of their further professional growth.
Gender equality and women’s access to construction professions is another goal set by the project. In the future, the project is aimed at building an effective system of recognition of prior learning in institutions of vocational education and training and its compliance with international standards in order to strengthen the competitiveness of specialists.
