From October 16-18 in Kyiv, 26 specialists from Career Development Centers, representing educational institutions partnered with the EdUP project, enhanced their knowledge and skills to better support young people in their career paths.

The training aimed to foster an understanding of the importance of motivation and equip participants with career coaching techniques for effectively supporting students. 

Key Topics of the Training Program

– Fundamentals of Motivation and Coaching: Participants explored the key aspects of motivation, its impact on youth development, and were introduced to basic coaching techniques to work with unmotivated students.
– Coaching Techniques and the GROW Methodology: Specialists learned the principles of active listening, trust-building, and effective questioning. They also practiced applying these skills to support students in career development.
– Long-Term Motivation and Individual Development Plans: Participants worked on creating individualized development plans, studied methods to track students’ progress, and explored ways to sustain students’ interest in professional growth.

Training Outcomes

Career development specialists gained insights into:

– the importance of CDCs in shaping students’ futures and the need to adapt their work to new challenges;
– their own roles as significant mentors for students;
– the interconnectedness of habits, needs, goals, and dreams in professional growth.

Additionally, participants became familiar with motivational approaches and core principles of career coaching, practicing various methods, techniques, and formats, including a solution-focused approach.

This training provided CDC specialists with valuable tools to assist students in achieving their career goals and building successful futures.
