How to create and implement short-term courses in VET schools? What is the role of business in this process and where to look for it? What is important to take into account, and what should be avoided when establishing a public-private partnership in a vocational school?
Nina Ilarionova, an expert of the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Public-private partnership to improve professional education in Ukraine” spoke about this and even more at the August educational conference.
"Within the scope of the project, our team has developed a model for improving the qualifications of VET teachers in cooperation with business. The peculiarity and uniqueness of this model is that the training of the teachers is practically oriented, takes place in constant interaction with business representatives and takes into account the needs of the labor market.
Each component, each topic included in the professional development program can be considered as a separate short-term course aimed at acquiring partial qualifications and contributing to the fastest possible entry of the student into the labor market.
The goal of developing such a training model is the integration of business approaches and technologies into the educational process and the creation of a horizontal system of partnership between representatives of VET schools, manufacturers and employers.
