The EdUP project held the 3rd Training and Practice Conference “Modern Technologies in Electrical Installation”.

The event brought together 22 teachers and vocational training masters from 13 vocational education institutions — EdUP partner schools — as well as representatives of companies interested in modernizing the training of electrical installation specialists in Ukraine. Among them were Siemens, Phoenix Contact Ukraine, LAPP and StendIQ.
The conference was held with the support of the League of Masters.

Practical Training Block

Participants worked in teams, rotating through practical stations, theoretical sessions, and soft skills modules.

Theoretical modules covered:

🔸 Motor control systems and modern electric drive technologies
🔸 Electrical installation tools and technical solutions for the energy sector
🔸 Wiring diagrams and rules for designing electrical cabinets
🔸 Digital smart technologies in electrical installation

Practical modules included:

🔹 Motor start-up and protection
🔹 Safety and automation systems based on sensors
🔹 Setup and integration of Smart and Zigbee systems
🔹 Development of complex Smart solutions

Mastering New Electrical Installation Technologies

“The goal of this conference was to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills they need to design a short-term training program for preparing specialists in electrical installation. We integrated all key elements of such a program into the conference format — from modular structure and didactic materials to modern technical equipment and teacher upskilling.”

Soft Skills Module

Soft skills sessions focused on developing teachers’ pedagogical, communication and leadership competences. Participants practiced teamwork, explored the role of a modern teacher as a mentor and guide for students, and learned tools for creating a safe, practice-oriented and motivating learning environment.

Soft Skills Module

“This time we demonstrated how to work with professional electrical tools — correctly and safely. We also held a session on the software that will help students design electrical cabinets using modern digital systems.”

Oleksii Spodyriaka, Product Manager at Phoenix Contact: Working with New Tools

“On the first day, we worked with relay-type electrical systems and new components from leading manufacturers. Participants learned to integrate these elements into familiar circuits, configure them and select the right components. On the second day, we took a step forward toward digital technologies. Teachers saw how to integrate digital solutions into the circuits they use in their institutions and completed hands-on tasks that demonstrate the future of electrical installation.”

Mykola Yakymchuk, Technical Expert in Electromechanical Systems

The 3rd Conference on Modern Electrical Installation Technologies became a dynamic platform where VET teachers gained new knowledge and practical skills. They will now be able to pass these competencies on to their students and prepare them to work confidently with modern electrical installation technologies.
